Let them be their Aussie Idol for a night!
Host your own special Gold Coast X Factor Or Aussie Idol Party with our great ideas for invitations, decorations, food, games and more party theme ideas.
Make your own Aussie Idol invitations. On some blue stock card, or blue paper glue silver stars. Or copy the logo from the internet and glue on to the cards. This can be done for an X Factor theme as well just by changing colours and logo to suit. Another idea is to get old Cds or CD covers and glue or tape the party information onto them.
Inside the invitation include the Date, Time/ End Time, Address and the Theme idea and Dress code. Offer them the chance to perform as their star on the night. By putting this on the invitation it will give them a chance to rehearse before the party.
Finally, include an audition number printed on a piece of white paper with a safety pin attached so can wear during their performance if they choose to perform.
Ask them to come dressed as their favourite, singer or performer.
For this party theme decorate to suit the show colours – Blue and Silver or Red and silver. Consider having a banner printed with the logos on them for a backdrop.
Hang silver stars in door ways, from the ceiling, the trees and on the walkway leading up to the party. A red carpet makes a “Stars” entrance grand, therefore consider hiring one for the occasion.
Clear an area of the venue or party space to make room for a stage.
What to serve teenagers is always a daunting question and it is no easier with this party theme. Make up your mind early by asking the kids what they would think should be on the menu. After all they know their friends best. You may like to suggest, a hot dog stand, a traditional Aussie BBQ, or a Pizza menu. Mobile pizza ovens delivering freshly made pizzas are available for hire on the Gold Coast and are perfect for pleasing fussy teenagers. Be sure to book any of these well in advance.
Because they are too old for cordial but not old enough for alcohol, great beverage alternatives are “Mocktails.” ( Cocktails without the alcohol ). These refreshing drinks are just perfect for our warm Gold Coast days / nights. There are many Mocktail recipes on the internet, you just have to google Mocktail recipes.

Games & Activities
The main activity will be the party guests performing their song that they have rehearsed. You may like to set up 3 chairs and allocate guests or adults to judge the singing competition. Once again don’t forget to consult with the teenager of your household to find out whether they think that games are a good idea or not. If so here are a couple of other game and activities you may like to include.
Do some research and find out facts from all the previous seasons of Australian Idol or X Factor. Make up a quiz for the party guests to try and answer. Give prizes for the winners.
It’s time for a commercial break game
Select 2 players to begin. Have one player choose an item from around the room and hand it to the other player The first player then has to make a 30 second commercial for the item they were given. Keep playing until everyone has had a turn.
